A wonderful family in a community we serve, called to say their female had again given birth, this time to 9 puppies! At first, we were going to wait for the pups to achieve 6 weeks, then take them into care. However, this family asked us if we could make room for Cassha and her babies.
A dog angel family appeared, and the rescue was underway!
A veterinary appointment was arranged for Monday Aug. 21st with all parties meeting at The Sylvan Lake Vet Clinic. Great excitement was in the air, as the family delivered mom and pups, safely in a very large dog crate. Dr. Mattson examined all the babies, born Aug. 11th, and declared them to be very healthy puppies. Cassha is a bit thin which would be normal for a mom feeding 9 youngsters. She is now eating a very high quality puppy food to assist her with raising the little ones.
Cassha is settling nicely into her new surroundings, and is the centre of attention!!
