ELMYRA (ELLIE) AND HER 6 KITTENS

This beautiful cat was rescued, along with her kittens who were under an abandoned car, last Wednesday, May 31st. It took 5 volunteers to complete the mission!! Elmyra had her kittens in Grampa Keith's shop, then moved 5 of them to the abandoned car. The next day when they were rescued, there were 6! She had her last kitten a day later than the rest. Happily mom and kittens are doing very well in the luxury of their foster home! One little one has his eyes open all ready. All kittens and Elmyra have been examined by Dr. Marv Mattson of the Sylvan Lake Vet Clinic and are doing well.

Aug 13, 2006: an update on Elmyra (Elly Mae)'s two remaining kittens.

"Frank" and "Gordon" are the two little orange tabby kittens, born May 28th to Elmyra, still looking for a forever home.
They were brought to the coordinator's home for foster care, and quickly joined in with the adult cats who all patiently love them!

As you may have read, Elmyra travelled to Abbotsford via WestJet, with the coordinator, and has taken up residence with a delightful family. "Elly" joins "SweetPea" and "Pawzie", both rescued from here, and 14 year old "Peanut". As their owner says, she is fortunate enough to have permission from the cats to live there, and pay the mortgage!!

Back to "Frank" and "Gordon" - so named for the beavers - they are happy, healthy, purring machines, and have lived indoors all their lives.

Update August 2007: Gordon has been adopted.
Update December 2007: Gordon(and Cedric)have been returned to AARCS due to his owner having to move. We really would love to place these two friendly neutered male cats.  They love people, aren't too sure about big dogs!

Update: 31 Jan 08 (Gorden)Gordie and Cedric are two male cats (2 yrs and 5yrs old) AARCS rescued. They have been in foster care and we assumed the foster family was keeping them as we had not heard from them in a long time. Unfortunately, things have changed and the foster family can no longer keep them and need them moved ASAP. They are buddies and we would really like them to go together. Their pictures on the website are REALLY old, and I'm waiting on new pictures. They are both neutered and have been around dogs.
