Some time later he was watching a commercial about animals in need decided he wanted to help with animals too. Kyle ask his friends and family to donate $10 each to AARCS instead of buying him gifts for his 7th birthday.

December 2007

Agro Equipment Christmas Party Fund Raiser, with Paul Brandt

AARC  volunteer,  Anna  Thompson organized a  fund raising event which involved working the  bar service at the Argo Christmas Party in  Trochu, Alberta on December 1, 2007. The entertainment for the evening included Paul Brandt. It was a wonderful night which involved the help of 15 volunteers who worked from 4pm until the wee hours of the morning. A special thank you to Chris and Anna for organizing the event as there was a lot work to be done leading up to that evening.

We raised over $2500 in one night ! This included profits from the bar, tips (donations) and the sale of small stuff dogs that were centre pieces on the over 40 tables. We are very thankful to John Deer for allow us to work this event.

The money will be put to good use, probably much of it going to Sydney’s surgery on her wounded leg.

At the end of the show, AARC coordinators Deanna, Melanie and Katie brought in Rocky and Romeo (two foster dogs) to have their pictures taken with Paul Brandt for the website. Before long they found themselves backstage with Paul Brandt and the puppies. A gentle soul he is and a true animal lover, Romeo stole the heart of Paul Brandt that night.

Stampede Party

Deanna and Jay our dedicated volunteers and foster parents hosted a fund raising stampede party at their home in Chestermere this month..
They raised over $1000!! In addition, they received donations of food, blankets, toys, treats, collars, leashes and even a XXL crate. It was a warm sunny day and many people dropped in to see the two foster puppies, Booker and Barker, enjoy a BBQ'd hamburger and a cold beverage.
