Heidi's Story
Heidi
was born Dec 8th, 2005, in a First Nations Community quite
far out west. Her mom had 5 pups. The owner is a very kind lady who
has kept the whole litter because they did not get adopted. Approximately
3 or 4 months ago, she approached AARCS wanting to surrender
one puppy, as the costs of raising the whole litter were mounting. Arrangements
were made three times to rescue the pup, but for a variety of reasons,
the transports from the community did not take place.
On Sept 30/06, two volunteers drove west for two hours to the home of
the owner, and picked up Heidi! She is a beautiful little girl, in need
of a grooming but healthy.
She will be spayed shortly, and spend time being socialized (that began
in the vehicle as she snuggled on a sleeping bag, in the lap of the
coordinator, until her fur dried from her bath just before she was rescued).
She will stay in our care for a minimum of two weeks, while she recovers
from surgery, and settles with her new life.
Watch for updated photos within the next few days!
