Melanie Crehan along with a group of dedicated volunteers, founded  Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (A.A.R.C.S.) in 2006.

The Alberta Animal Rescue Crew (A.A.R.C.) Society is a non-profit organization whose mandate is to rescue abandoned, surrendered or abused small animals from First Nations Communities in Central Alberta and place these animals in the safety of a foster home system while awaiting suitable placement in forever, adoptive homes.

We provide veterinary care, food, love and support for these animals in foster homes as we search for appropriate adoptive homes.

The dogs and cats that we rescue range in age from the very young puppies and kittens to the mature pet looking for a ‘forever’ home.
These pets have been vet checked and vaccinated and provided with necessary medical attention prior to being placed for adoption.

In order to raise some funds for our very special canine friends please come out and support us at one or more of our Summer Fund-raising events. Please pass this onto your friends and family that are interested in supporting AARCS.

Check with the organization you work for to see if your volunteer hours count toward donations to your non-profit of choice. I know Encana will donate up to $1000 for volunteer hours! Volunteers are needed for all the above events. Even if you don't golf, we still need volunteers to help organize.

We are also collecting books for a book drive we will be having later on in the year.
