CUBBI, APOLLO, LEIA, AND AMELIA'S STORY

These four little ones were born approximately 6 weeks ago to the female who gave birth to 4 other pups just over 5 months ago!! AARCS took in the last litter as well and all have found wonderful homes. The mom dog is due to be spayed in about two weeks.

The lady who looked after the mom dog through her pregnancy and whelping, called AARCS to ask if we could take the pups into care. Fortunately, we had enough foster homes open to accomodate the three pups we were asked to pick up. Darn! When we got there, there were four puppies so we loaded them all, each in their own warm rescue blanket for their ride to a new life.

The mother dog is quite small - about 18 inches at the shoulder, or the height of a border collie. She is brown brindle with a smooth coat and lab face. The father dog is a multi breed boy with malamute, chow, lab, and who knows what else. Both dogs are friendly and gentle.

The pups are quite snuggly,were relaxed on their ride, and showed no fear of a car load of people! Three pups are with our new foster home in Sylvan Lake, and one pup is with our foster parent in Red Deer

Update April 2007: Leia, Amelia and Apollo have been adopted.
