Luka and Larry
A resident of the First Nations community who often helps animals in
need, called to let us know she had rescued two kittens from a potentially
abusive situation. As she has several cats, all but one of whom is altered,
she asked if we could please find a foster home for them. That call
came before Christmas which gave us time to find someone to foster!!
Luckily for AARCS and the kittens, a lovely lady and her children, and
their aunties, stepped up to help. The kittens arrived in great shape
on Dec. 26th, ate huge amounts of food, and made themselves at home
overnight at the coordinator's house. Today, Dec. 27th, Luka and Larry
visited the Sylvan Lake Vet Clinic, and were examined and vaccinated
by Dr. Mattson.
We learned the following from today's visit: Luka is part Manx and has
no tail! He is about one month older than Larry, who is about 14 weeks.
Luka has most of his adult teeth, so he is about 18 weeks.
Larry puts a regular outboard motor to shame with his loud and frequent
purring! He is very cuddly and friendly. Luka comes when called and
enjoys being held too. He is a very handsome boy!
Update 13 April 2007 Luka has been adopted.
