NEVADA'S STORY
On
March 31st, some volunteers loaded some food and treats for a trip to
one of the First Nations Communities we serve, just to say hello, and
re-connect.
While visiting with one family, a little back muddy pup appeared on
the porch eager for treats. The adult dogs attacked her, as they saw
her as a threat to their food. Of course, she was immediately scooped
to safety!! We then had a long discussion about all the dogs, and this
puppy's origins. The conclusion of the discussion was that she had wandered
from quite a distance, and we were asked to take her into care.
"Nevada" got her name on the way to the Sylvan
Lake Vet Clinic where she was vaccinated, health checked and
de-wormed. Dr. Matson pronounced her to be 7 weeks
old, and much too thin, under her fluffy coat.
Nevada is likely a chow cross/lab and maybe husky?? She is lively and
playful, and less protective of her food, now that she knows feeding
time is a regular event!
