Story

What Lacey (a.k.a. Bambam) has to say:
A few short weeks ago I couldn’t figure out why any dog would want to be inside when there are soooo many fun things to do outside! Then I discovered that there are a lot of great things in that big box they call a house - like treats, snuggles, a warm bed, food, and did I mention treats?? It’s not such a bad place after all....in fact I think I rather like it, especially since the warm sunny days disappeared and that funny white stuff started to fall out of the sky. Brrrr!
I am discovering all kinds of new things with my foster family - car rides, walking with this strange rope thing attached to my collar, playing fetch, this mysterious place called the upstairs (which, by the way, is a great place......that is where all the action is) and neighbourhood kids. But the best of all is the farm! I have visited the farm twice now and it is so awesome!!! There is lots of room to run around and so many things to see and do like play with the other dogs!
In the beginning I wasn’t quite so sure about this new way of life but I have definitely decided it is way better than the life I knew before!!!!!

What her foster family has to say:
Lacey has come a long way in the last few weeks. When she first came to us she was very timid and very anxious about being inside. Slowly and with much encouragement she started to feel more comfortable about coming in but would not go beyond the kitchen. Gradually she made her way from one room to another until she finally braved the upstairs! Now she has the run of the house and is feeling right at home.
Lacey is great with kids and other dogs and loves to play. She is completely house trained and is generally pretty quiet unless she is trying to get your attention to play with her......then she will “talk” to you! She is working really hard on overcoming her shyness and is learning to trust people. She is also learning to walk on a leash as well as basic commands. She sits really well but needs a bit more practice to come when called. She is a sweet, gentle little girl and we are happy to have her as part of our family while she awaits her new forever home.

Update Mar 14, 2010

Scout was previously adopted in 2009 but was returned due to allergies. Here is an update from Scout and her foster family!

I'm scouting (heehee) for a family. I'm a dainty little black female doggie cross and I have a cute little curl in my tail. When my foster Mom scouted (heehee) for words to describe me, she was flabbergasted!!!! There were just so many good things to say about me. We are all sorry but I had to leave my last family because I was giving my Mommy increasingly bad allergy problems. Gosh I wish I could have just dried up all my saliva and taken off my skin suit but that just can't be done. So
here I am waiting for you to scout me (heehee). Well..have you e-mailed yet to see me? What.ARE..you..waiting for???

Even though I am only just under a year, I acted grown up enough to regularly visit the seniors at a residence. I'm polite and know sit and down. I love kids, other doggie and adults, even kitties. Here in foster even the old grump doggie will play
with me. I have a 2 year old foster mate here and she play-chases me but I AM faster. But really I would rather go and have my own family to play and love. I'm really okay with anybody. (Look a whole paragraph and no scouting references.oh I think I blew it!!)

Well anyway here's me: I have a super shinny coat, about 2" + in spots long; I'm 21" tall; 42 pounds; house trained; off the furniture & bed trained; crate trained. I have a delicate tummy inside but foster Mom is ever ever so gradually having me eat
other kinds of doggie food to toughen me up like my old house mates. I only bark a bit to play (I love chew toys, squeakies and balls); I'm don't guard my food bowl from doggies or people; I ride nice in the vehicle; I go on walks nice; I settle
down easily, gosh...I'm getting tired pawing on this keyboard thing .you just come and see me, okay. Licks for now, Scout.
