Story
Everyone loves the book "Charlottes Web" and that's how I got my name, I feel so beautiful now because for sometime my life was rough. These people 'bought me' and oh those are terrible words and for a few months I lived with many other dogs running around together. Well guess what, most dogs where I lived don't get spayed or neutered so I had puppies and I'm really young, well my motherly instinct when into action, I dug a hole for the puppies to be born, and I also knew they would be safe there from any predators. Arabel, Wilbur and Bitsy also told me I was a good Mom, so nice to hear from your kids. They stayed underground, several times a day I came and fed them and tell them stories of the outside world, it was hard to tell them it was 'tough out there' mostly because food of scarse and I was always hungry and I worried for them when they grew up. Just after feeding the kids one day I heard a vehicle and listened to what the people were saying. They were from AARCS and asked if they could help by taking the puppies because very soon I'd have no milk to feed them, my mind went racing 'take my puppies', 'yes I could feed them forever, or so I thought' I was devasted when they picked up my puppies and put them in the vehicle. Instantly I was sad, never to see them again. Then all of a sudden my owner said "Take the Mom too"..take me, oh yes please I want to go with the kids, the rescue team quickly put a collar on me (which was pink by the way), then a leash and lifted me into the car, I was all dirty and wet but that didn't seem to matter to them...and in an instant we were ALL on our way to a different life. The kids and I arrived at Church's house, he's a great foster Dad and I continued to feed the puppies until Church explained to me that my milk would dry up and the puppies could eat dogfood. Each day I became more familiar with this new life and understood that my puppies would be adopted (not bought in a store) by great folks and I too would be adopted when ready. Well folks now I'm ready, I've been spayed, never to add to the over population of unwanted dogs. Church calls me a 'couch potato' because I just LOVE to lay there inside where it is warm and cozy. I get to go to the park and play with friends and just love this new life....maybe you would like to come and see me. Love Charlotte
