Story

Hello everyone,
My name is Shah and AARCS gave me my second chance at life about 3 weeks ago! I was VERY VERY skinny when they found me... at my first vet visit I was only 8 kg and I was at least 12 weeks old!! I didn't look very healthy and I had a belly very full of worms... BUT I got a bunch of dewormer pills and now I am absolutely free of those yucky things!!
I also went to the vet today (January 8th) to be neutered and I have gained 4.4 kgs in the last 3 weeks!! The vet almost didn't even recognize me!! Plus the vet was nice enough to give me a good brush while I was sedated to get the remaining tar out of my fur so now I am a solid shade of white!
I am a very smart dog and have mastered the 'sit' command but I still get very excited when I'm around food or treats so I can be easily distracted! My foster Mom still needs to do some work with me while I'm on my leash as I'm not very familiar with it but she is going to work hard on this while I am still in her care!
I still need to put on a little bit more weight to be a perfect pup but that shouldn't be hard as I LOVE LOVE LOVE my food!! I am definitely a pup though because I am very rambunctious and still nibble on fingers every once in a while but Mom has almost got that completely under control.
I get along GREAT with my foster brothers Niko and Dash! I love to chase Dash around the yard and LOVE LOVE LOVE to play tug-a-war with both of them with our favorite toys! I have a lot of energy but I also love my sleep! When I get tuckered out I just fall where ever I am and fall asleep although my favorite place to sleep seems to be under the kitchen table!
I am fulling crate trained and sleep full nights in my crate without whining at all! Mom was very impressed that at 12 weeks old I spent a full night in my crate without any messes!
I am a little bit cautious still of things that are not familiar to me and I need to be reassured from time to time that I am safe and I am slowly coming out of my shell!
I would make the perfect companion for any home but would be very excited to go to a new home that maybe has a brother or sister for me! I seem to really learn best from other dogs and seem to really enjoy their company!
I am almost completely house trained, I do most of my business outside and I even go to the back door when I need to go out BUT sometimes my Mom isn't paying attention and lucky for her she's very smart and has a pee pad by the back door just in case I can't hold it! BUT I haven't had to use the pee pad in a few days and if I do have to go before I get outside I ALWAYS go on the pee pad! I have NEVER EVER had a #2 accident in the house though so that's a plus!
My foster Mom told me that she waiting until this evening to put me up on the website because the thought of letting me go makes her sad... I guess I've touched a special place in her heart and she would love to keep me but is also very excited for me to find my forever home!
She also says that I'm softest puppy ever and she loves to give me pets because I'm just so soft and lovable!!!
Mom also says it's hard to find a picture with just me because I just love playing with the other dogs so much that most of my time is spent being with my foster brothers!!
Mom also doesn't know how I would be around kids as I have not come into contact with any but she expects that I will be great because I seem to be good with everyone I come into contact with... Although I can be a little timid around men... My foster Dad let me outside this morning and I didn't want to come back in for him but I don't seem to be scared of him or anything I just don't want to listen... He doesn't give me my food and treats though so he should take a lesson from Mom as she always seems to have the good stuff!!
If I sound like a dog that would fit in your home fill out an application form for me!!

We just wanted to let you know how fantastic Shah is doing. He has settled in and made great friends with our lab Rook. He is going on 2 leash walks a day and doing really well. He is still nervous around strange dogs but we are working on that.
