Story
Are you looking for a go getter? I’m here, that’s me, Boss, aka Zeke. Betcha it’s been a while, if ever, that you’ve heard the name Zeke. Well my foster Mom wasn’t too keen about the clinic name Boss (she says sorry Shelby) so she calls me Zeke. I’m named after the Dick and Jane Primary Reader’s Gardener / Handyman “Zeke”. Neat eh, and that says how old Mom is!!! Well it’ll balance out because I’m real young.
I’m glad 2009 is over! See I had a hard time in the pack, being really low in that hierarchy. I have lots of bites from the other doggies and good thing I’m brindle, sort of helps hide all my scares. My old snowmobile run in, that dented my skull, has not left me dazed or anything (meow meow…gosh did I let that slip?? ..I mean arf arf) The recent big gash on my head from the vehicle crunch healed and also my ear there is fine, it perks up real tall to the squeak of a toy. I’ll just have a bald spot….hey do they make hair pieces for doggies or is there any doggie hair growth stuff out there? I’ll have to start watching the ads on TV to see if I see any. Hey I’m handsome anyway….sort of Dingo looking …and I’ll just pose for photos on my right side…oh darn...that’s my bald side…ah… I have a really nice looking tail, hardly any scars there!!!!
Even with all those head things going on, I love to butt in and get my head patted. I love to lean right in and slide down for belly rubs too. Oh it feels so good to get loved. I bet there is someone out there right now who has just the right fingers to scratch me. I’m taking names now, come on and test scratch me and see how great I am.
Mom has not heard me bark yet. I’ve never gone potty in the house or even chewed the chair leg. I am learning to be patient & take food treats slower, to give a paw and stuff people “think” are important!!! I have complete run of the house. I let Mom take food and toys from me. But I sometimes get into it with the other doggies when they come too close to my food, we get too excited playing or a favorite toy is involved. I’m getting lessons but this house of 4 male doggies is busy with hormones!!! So Mom thinks I’d be better without any little kids around who don’t know about all that dog stuff and not with first time doggie owners. But you can talk to my “people” about that. I just want love.
We go to the off leash park, or as I call it the “awesome park”. Wow…dogs in every direction…AWESOME and I have been good (if you don’t count when I rolled in the goose and duck poop…oh by the way I hate baths)
Here’s some more info about me, the long lean lovin machine!
- 54 pounds
- 21” at shoulder
- short easy to maintain coat, fine with nails trimming, combing and brushing
- not keen about baths, especially that shower spray nozzle
- Happy happy happy
- Very curious
I could be as calm as you want if it’s just you or if you have a big family I could be the life of the party. What is it they say on TV?? “Call Now, Operators Are Standing By”, well we’ll answer your e-mail soon and you can arrange to come and play with me, okay. I’ll keep an ear up for you.
Update Jan 30, 2010
Ga'Day Mates from down under...okay it's really from under my Sheila's computer table but you get my drift. Well so much for all the "Australian" I know! Mom thinks I look like a Dingo..NO not a Dingbat...a Dingo!!!
Hey see I have new photos, my others were great and these are great too, don't they accent my nice rich brindle colour? I look sorta sad cause I'm looking for YOU. Are you out there for me?
Mom says I could be a great Frisbee, Agility or walker / hiker dog. I can bound around like a kangaroo. Well not if you see me now dozing but it's nap time before bed time!!! Myself and the 2 resident boy doggies had a good play at the off leash park, I'm so good there, I did this supersonic recall that was awesome. Made Mom's head spin!! Then I had a lesson at home. You other doggies out there reading this....never let your People go to doggie seminars!!! They come back with all these weird ideas and then try them US!!! What do I need to learn, oh well, I pleased my Mom and showed her can learn to sit at the door before we go out and then walk S L O W on leash, geeeee the things we do for people eh?
You really should come and see me, I never bark at people or doggies I see out the house or vehicle window, I ride nice in the vehicle, and all those other nice things said before.
Come and see me in the flesh and fur, pat me, rub my ears ......ooooo...I get all woozy....just thinking about those ear rubs. Ga'Day......that Australian thing again!!!
