Story
Tucker has grown a lot since she arrived here - a tiny black ball of fur just 7 weeks old. She was the weakest of the litter and was bottle fed to help her grow and gain her strength. You would never know now that she was 'behind' the rest - she is a feisty, spunky go-getter!! She loves to play and run and then of course a nap.Tucker thinks she would like to be a lap dog - though I think she may get a little big for that! She loves to lay on your lap for a nap, loves to be cuddled and petted- a real people puppy!. She loves to be loved!!
She is a pretty amazing little girl - the first night she slept in her kennel there was no complaints - she shuffled around getting her bed just right and then slept right through- then of course - the dash for the door in the morning to have a quick bathroom break - it's COLD and dark - a little scary for her. She is not totally house trained but is catching on quickly, she knows to 'sit for a treat' but gets a little impatient if you take too long and usually responds quickly when you call her - unless something has caught her puppy curiosity. Tucker loves to chase toys and carries them around like the best trophy ever!! Will be a natural at "fetch".!! She really enjoys getting the 'stuffing' out of kongs - chasing them all over and picking up the pieces. .She loves to be wherever you are - but does not pester for attention - just needs to be close..She whines a bit when you leave her home alone but settles down quickly.
Tucker loves to play and wrestle with the other dogs here and is learning how to behave around the cats - she would love to play with one if it would only co-operate!
Being 100% puppy , Tucker's family will need the patience and understanding to know that she will make mistakes - puddle on the floor, chew on a shoe- if she can - that she will need lots of playtime and exercise to tire her out, and will need gentle and consistent training and lots of love -to help her become all the she can be!! For all that you give to her - she will return it many times over in unconditional love, devotion and companionship and fun!!
Update Feb 21, 2010
Tucker is growing fast!! She is a beautiful, sleek coal black pup with just a dash of white on her chest. She is catching on to the house training quite quickly - but when she has to go - she has to go! She willingly heads for the door if you ask her if she needs out - she runs out- does her business and if nothing sidetracks her - she runs right back and sits for her treat. She knows sit really really good! We have been exploring the world outside the gate and Tucker is not really sure that it's such a good idea --but over time and with lots of encouragement along the way I am sure she will look forward to new adventures. After a busy day of playing, exploring and napping Tucker loves to curl up at your feet and nap while you relax - then off to bed - after a last "business trip outside" - she settles quickly for a good 8 - 9 hours of sleep. Tucker really loves to play with you -chasing a ball or toy or getting a good petting but she will also entertain herself with chew ropes and nylabones carrying them around so proudly and flopping down here or there for a chew. She has a great time with the other dogs in the house - chasing after them or having a rough and tumble wrestling match - she is no wimp-- but she also has a real soft side that loves to be cuddled and petted. Tucker really loves her food - quickly dashing into her kennel when she sees her food bowl is ready - but pops back out if you don't get there fast enough! Then "In you go" sends her flying back in to wait for the bowl to come. She is a great pup - with a great personality - waiting a great forever home to make her a part of the family and take her on some new adventures.( She may be black - but she IS all that!!! and more!!)
