Story

Hello everybody. I just wanted to give you a proper update on Blu. He has been improving since the last update. He now eats from a dog bowl just fine and comes upstairs and downstairs on his own. He goes outside and comes in easier without having to wheel barrel him in either direction. I took him to a dog park (on a leash) a few times and he really loved it. He still is afraid of people, but he is super good around dogs.
Blu's ideal home would include one that would be patient and possibly look into working with a professional in order to overcome all of Blu's insecurities. He also can not be in a crate so a family that would most likely crate train or leave in a crate while they are not home would not be ideal for Blu.
Blu would be best in a home with experienced dog owners and would be okay with children as long as they are also experienced.
Overall Blu is a very special puppy with the most expressive eyes. His eyes tell you that he has suffered in the past and that he really doesn’t know who to trust. I noticed that there was absolutely no expression in his eyes when we first took him home. His eyes looked completely lifeless…….something really hard to imagine until you actually see it for yourself. Little by little you can see that there is a soul in that body that is coming alive. He is starting to understand that it is ok to get excited when he sees us. He wags his tail and expresses his love in such a gentle and tender manner. I will be completely heartbroken to see him go. I already love him with my entire heart and soul.

Blu is really starting to come around. I can't believe that
there has been this explosion of improvement in his behavior. He comes around all of the family members politely but without being afraid. He gently goes to the kids for attention and has no problem with them petting him and talking in their high pitched voices. The children feed him treats and he takes the treats so carefully and gently. He has even finally started to bark. He has the most amazing and beautiful hound like bark. He
only barks when he is having a ball with the other dogs and they are running around chasing each other like crazy..I would say that he is completely silent 98% of the time so he definitely isn't a big barker. He is polite on a leash and is getting more comfortable and curious about people that he
sees on walks. He gets into and out of the car with hardly any help anymore.

I am hesitant to talk about his appearance because it seems so shallow, but he really is the most regal and majestic looking dog. His coat is such a rich color and shines like silk...Just a beautiful boy. When we go for walks he attracts all of the attention so I feel like I am walking around
with eye candy. In addition to his fantastic looks, Blu also listens very well and has superior temperament. All in all a fantastic dog will great characteristics.
