Timmy's Story On the same property where we found Foxy Lady, Fiammetta & Shyla we also found little Timmy. The family did not want to surrender him but after discussing his condition they felt it would be best that we take Timmy as well. Timmy lived through the winter with barely an once of fat and a very short, thin coat of hair. Timmy was gauntly skinny and his big brown eyes showed how sad he really was. He head hung between his shoulder and we walked carefully around, hoping for a bit a food. Timmy is now happy in his foster home and holds his head up high. He loves to go and sniff around at the off leash park and walks well on a leash. Timmy has a previous knee injury to his back knee that the vets confirm there is nothing they can do. Timmy should be on joint supplements and with proper nutrition and excerise his leg should not stop him from doing all the normal doggie stuff. Timmy is very affectionate and has the sweetest disposition. Timmy is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations and ready for his forever home!

Why you should adopt a black dog: Did you know that black dogs are usual they hardest to place or take the longest to adopt? Many are put-down in shelters and pounds across Canada and the US because they are overlooked by people for lighter colored dogs. At AARCS we are a no-kill rescue, but we have noticed that our black canine friends stay in foster care longer than then multi-coloured or lighter coloured dogs. If you are looking for a dog to adopt, please don't overlook our black dogs because of their color. They are just as wonderful and great dogs as the others. Reason/myths as to why black dogs are over looked: 1) Harder to photograph and therefore do not get as much attention 2) Look mean, although color is not what makes a dog aggressive 3) Too ordinary…
