On May 10 th rescuers found Tora running abandoned on a road. Tora is very pregnant and should be giving birth any day. We can see that this is not her first litter and she can rest easy knowing that this will be her last. Tora is a beautiful and friendly dog. After her pups have been weaned she will be spayed and aviable for adoption.

Update 17Jul08: Update from Tora's Foster mom July 2008: Tora is another amazing dog. She is very good in the house. We haven't had any accidents in the house. She loves to be outside as she gets quite warm inside. She is very sociable and likes everybody. Goes to the door and is very happy to meet new people. She does need to have a very secure back yard. She was leaving the yard when she could and would just wander around and come back again. However, I would worry about her in a busy neighbourhood. I have now fixed all the escape routes and she doesn't try to get out. She has been a really easy girl to look after. Very affectionate. Likes all kids and people in general. I don't think she would be good around livestock as she barks at the horses when she comes to the barn with me. I'm pretty sure she would chase them by the way she reacts.
Tora has become very attached to me and has decided I need protecting. She makes sure the other dogs "respect my space" when she's around. She doesn't fight with my dogs but she lets out little growls and doesn't take her eyes off them if they get too excited and start jumping around me.
She is a very easy keeper and very gentle and well behaved. She's very good in the car - very curious as to where we are going and loves to look out the window and then sit in the drivers seat when I leave. I have left her in a kennel with my dogs and she adjusted very well. Also, good on leash, but she would probably benefit from some obedience training, especially on her recall.
I hope she can get a great home. She would be good with a family of children or a quiet home as she seems to adapt to any situation. She doesn't "mouth" when she plays so would be fine around children. However, she also enjoys just vegging out and sleeping when things are quiet.
