What AARCS Has to Say
Our volunteer Brian Churchman goes by the name Church. A few years back when AARCS was still very small we sent out a desperate plea looking for a volunteer to foster a pregnant dog. Church received this Mom and spent 8 hours with her as she gave birth to 10 puppies! Since that day, he hasn’t stopped. Countless moms and pups have been raised in his home. Not only does he foster, he spends almost every weekend helping with the spay/neuter return of many animals to their owners who could not otherwise afford to have it done, he assist in rescuing of stray and unwanted animals, talking with the people and children about proper care for their animals, and encouraging the need for proper food, water and shelter. Church crawled the full length of a trailer to rescue a litter of unwanted puppies, and is fearless when helping trap wild and aggressive dogs. He even stopped to clip nails of a dog at the FNC of Big Horn north of Rocky Mountain House when asked by a resident.
Church's volunteer spirit never stops, no matter what type of job needs done. He always steps forward to say, “Yes I can help!” Church sits on the Board for AARCS helping us make decisions on a 24/7 basis because in animal rescue everything is 14/7 job. When an animal is in need, we need to take action immediately and having a volunteer such as Church is integral part in making a difference everyday. Church is passionate about getting dogs spayed and neutered, as we know this is important to stop unwanted dogs being born into a world where there are thousands of unwanted. Church and other volunteers with AARCS live by the motto "Until there are None, Rescue One".
Thank you Church for all that you do!
A Few Words from the Volunteer
Message from Anna a Rescue Friend: I've had the opportunity to volunteer with Church many many times and I'm amazing at the work and time spent in making a difference to the animals we rescue and the ones we watch over in our First Nation Communities.
Message from Deb a Rescue Friend: Is very dedicated as a board member as well as a volunteer going to the reserve weekly most often. His main concern is the welfare of the dogs and he avoids politics and his own agenda for the best interest of the dogs. He is fearless and has never let go of a dog that needs rescue in spite of the dog biting the heck of him
